Task

Your challenge is to create a website header. You will then be able to use this on your DT portfolio website! Depending on what sort of image you are creating use either Gimp or Inkscape.

This is an easy way to customise your website.

Step 1 - Gimp / Inkscape File

Open Gimp or Inkscape

The file size we are going to use is 1024px (w) x 128px (h)

Inkscape - File > Document Properties

Gimp - File > New

Step 2 - Create Your Background

Based on the skills you've learnt, create your background. I used a tutorial I found on Youtube.

I also used a colour palette generator to help me come up with my colour scheme that reflects me. You can use https://coolors.co/generate

If you are drawing graphics use Inkscape. If you are using photographs use Gimp.

Step 3 - Add Text

Name your website. The name should reflect what this website is about, so include your name and also something about DT / Digi Tech / Digital Technologies / Portfolio etc.

Again pick fonts that reflect you.

My text has a drop shadow on it to create depth.

Step 4 - Finished Product

Once you are happy you need to save the files in the appropriate format.

Firstly save the gimp/inkscape file (should have been doing this along the way)

Then you need to Export as a JPEG or PNG. For this example we are going to export the Page.
