A mihimihi is a way of introducing yourself in Maori. We will be adapting this to create a poster that describes you including elements you would find in a mihimihi.
Your challenge is to design and create a digital mihimihi that creates interest and is enaging. Your poster can include images and/or text and should be personalised, telling your story in your own way. Your poster should include the elements from your life but you can also add anything else you feel is important to you like animals, experiences, hobbies, passions, key moments etc.
Have a look at the images on this page for inspiration!!
You now need to do some research into possible designs for your poster. A very good resource for these is looking at movie posters as they are stylized and convey lots of information mainly in pictures.
Good sources of inspiration are:
Movie Posters
Book Covers
CD Covers
Game Posters
Grab an A4 piece of paper & pencil
You can do one sketch or split the paper into half and come up with 2 designs.
You are to sketch your digital mihimihi design and include some notes to help describe what it will be like.
Remember you are trying to include some of your history/culture and maybe some of you now.
Be creative and don't worry about how you will make this.
This is about getting your ideas out and not about how well you can draw.
You need to think about some design elements & principles:
where your elements are placed
use of image and/or text
fonts
sizes - hierarchy
colours
